WRIGHT BROTHERS DAY: December 17, 2018

One hundred and fifteen years ago today, on December 17, 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright, two American brothers from Dayton, Ohio, changed history.

By launching their hand built plane and achieving powered flight for 12 seconds, the aviation-era began.  However, today, many look back at this momentous occasion and forget about the time where ships and land travel were the primary modes of transportation.  Times sure have changed.

To celebrate this occasion, December 17, 2018, is Wright Brother Day per a Presidential Proclamation.  This national day was approved and adopted by Congress by a joint resolution on December 17, 1963.  Click here to read the Presidential Proclamation for 2018.
